An octogenarian was found dead in his flat in Coloane, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement yesterday.
The man was a local surnamed Lou who lived in a residential building on Avenida de Lok Koi.
According to the statement, Lou’s friend reported to the police that he had not been able to get in touch with Lou “for days” and was worried about him. Firefighters arrived at the scene and found that the door and the metal gate were locked, after which they abseiled down from an upper unit to enter the flat, the statement said. Lou’s corpse was found lying on his bed.
The statement added that later PJ officers found Lou naked from the waist down, and livor mortis was observed on the stiff body.
According to the statement, Lou had no injuries that could have been caused by foul play, nor were there any signs of a struggle found at the scene. The cause of death will be determined by an official forensic examination, the statement said.
