The 2022 Sands Shopping Carnival at The Venetian’s Cotai Expo drew over 100,000 visits, with the annual event attracting more than 310,000 visits since debuting in 2020, Sands China said in a statement yesterday.

The three-day event, which coincided with the Mid-Autumn Festival this year, ended on Monday and featured over 530 booths and eight different zones. It provided a free business platform for local SMEs and Sands retailers impacted by the pandemic, the statement noted.

Exhibitors, according to the statement, were grateful for the event’s swift rescheduling following the recent local COVID-19 outbreak in June. The exhibitors attributed the event’s popularity to the carnival’s arrangements and supporting facilities, “which have helped boost their revenues”, the statement said.

Meanwhile, the statement underlined that the events highlights included the ICBC ePay Presents: Karaoke King Singing Competition 2022, which attracted nearly 380 registrants across three days.

Moreover, BNU Presents: Street Dance Competition 2022 enabled 81 young dance enthusiasts to showcase their talents, with 13 teams of 3-8 participants having competed on Saturday, while over 570 participants joined the BOC Smart Kids Presents: Little Master Chef Workshop’s free food-prep and decorating activity, the statement said.
