Air Macau announced in a statement yesterday that its flights to Hanoi and Tokyo from Macau will be resumed from October 12 and October 13 respectively.
The flights from Hanoi to Macau will restart on October 26, operating in both directions on Wednesdays while the flights from Tokyo are scheduled to depart and arrive on Thursdays starting on October 27, the statement said.
The Chinese-language radio channel of public broadcaster TDM quoted Air Macau as saying that the resumption of international air routes for the first time amid the COVID-19 pandemic will create a “breakthrough” for Macau to better connect with other regions and countries, adding that with the resumption of the flights, the airline aims to further promote Macau’s “friendly exchanges” with Vietnam and Japan, so as to strengthen Macau’s cultural ties and cargo links with the two countries, as well as to create more “favourable conditions” for mutually beneficial and win-win cooperation.
Moreover, the airline said in the statement that it also plans to resume flights between Macau and Taipei on November 1, with the outbound and inbound flights both departing on Tuesdays.
