The Macau government announced yesterday that residents will benefit from another round of consumption e-vouchers next month, amounting to 8,000 patacas (US$991).
Secretary for Administration and Justice Andre Cheong Weng Chon announced the measure at a press conference following a regular meeting of the Executive Council, the government's top advisory body, at Government Headquarters. Cheong is the council's spokesman. It's the fourth round of consumer stimulus by the government.
The e-vouchers are valid between October 28, 2022 and June 30, 2023.
Residents can opt to receive the 8,000 patacas in the form of a stored-value card or by transfer to their mobile wallet. Spending is capped at 300 patacas a day.
The e-vouchers are part of the government's "living allowance" programme in response to the COVID-19 pandemic's impact on the local economy.
Earlier this year, the government separetely announced two 10-billion-pataca relief packages for Macau residents, employees, businesses and the self-employed. The second package will get off the ground next month.
Non-resident workers (NRWs) are not covered by the government's financial support measures.
