Last month Lisboeta Macau H853 Fun Factory launched Macau’s first pet-friendly leisure point to offer pet owners a new option of places to spend time with their pets, in order to create a friendly environment for both humans and animals, according to a statement received from the co-organisers on Saturday.
The statement went on to say that on Saturday, along with Macau Association Stray Dogs And Animal Welfare (MASDAW), H853 Fun Factory launched Charity Pet Day.
During the day, activities such as “Paws & Pawrents Dress-Up Contest”, “Pawlympic Competition” and “Dog Parade”, “Dog Training Session” as well as an on-site booth was set up and a donation session was held, the statement said.
The opening ceremony was officiated by Retail Business Development Lisboeta Macau Vice President Christine Hong Barbosa and MASDAW President Fátima Galvão as well as . Nicole Helm and Cristiana Massa, co-founders of Party Macau Limited.
Galvão said that MASDAW’s rate of adoptions was very low because the public in general prefer pure breed dogs, “that is why we have put a lot of effort in terms of education and sensitisation, we also hope [the] public can understand that you have to be prepared for a lifetime commitment before adopting.”
The statement said that MADSAW will continue to organise community walks so people get to know its dogs’ lovely personalities, and that MASDAW hopes to help their dogs find a home that wants to spend time with them as it helps them become happier and more confident.
Hong said at the opening ceremony, according to the statement, that the resort had been receiving positive feedback and support from guests since introducing pet-friendly features to Lisboeta Macau HH853 Fun Factory, in the hope that the public’s awareness of animal welfare is raised while continuing to introduce more pet-friendly events and keep improving the facilities as well regulations to make the resort even more pet-friendly.
The co-founders of Party Macau Limited Helm and Massa thanked Lisboeta Macau H853 Fun Factory for giving them the opportunity to organise the event and said they hoped that it would help more stray dogs find a home, the statement said.
In the statement Lisboeta Macau H853 Fun Factory said that it was committed to the pet-friendly concept where guests may walk their dogs in the outdoor area or hire a pushchair to take their pets shopping with them in the indoor area.
The statement added that Lisboeta Macau H853 Fun Factory will continue to provide more pet-friendly related activities for the public and continue to perfect its amenities and facilities to execute the pet-friendly concept.
