The 13th International Infrastructure Investment and Construction Forum (IIICF) will be held tomorrow and on Thursday at the Venetian Macao in Cotai, co-organised by the China International Contractors Association and the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM), according to a press conference held yesterday at the Venetian addressed by China International Contractors Association Chairman Fang Qiuchen and IPIM Acting President Vincent U U Sang.
The forum will be held both online and offline.
According to an IPIM statement, the forum is themed “Co-building infrastructure of High Standard, Sustainability and Benefit to People’s Livelihoods”, with the aim of promoting connectivity and cooperation within the international infrastructure industry.
According to the statement, the forum will bring together more than 1,300 participants, including leaders and executives from government departments, 20 financial institutions, more than 70 of the world’s top 250 international contractors, and more than 600 enterprises in the infrastructure industry from different regions of the world, where enterprises can showcase their projects or services, and match with potential partners for business meetings.
Emphasising that the scale of this year’s IIICF sees an approximate 20 percent increase compared to last year, Fang also announced the upcoming release of The Belt and Road Infrastructure Development Index 2022 and The Belt and Road Infrastructure Development Index Report 2022, which will provide scientific reference data and guidance on trends in the field of international infrastructure cooperation, as well as new trends and new characteristics in the infrastructure industry around the world.
U said that this year’s IIICF will feature more Macau elements to strengthen synergy between MICE events and Macau’s economic and trade sectors, with activities including collaboration with the local MICE industry.
U also noted that a parallel forum on “Building Macau into a Green and Smart City” will be held during the two-day forum, as well as a parallel forum focusing on the development of SMEs in Macau, the mainland and Portuguese-speaking countries.
In the statement IPIM said that the forum will be complying with the Health Bureau’s COVID-19 prevention measures such as having sufficient medical supplies, designing contingency plans, and strictly implementing temperature checks and on-site disinfection.
