The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) noted in a statement yesterday that the daily average of visitor arrivals during the first four days of the mainland’s National Day Golden Week holidays exceeded 29,000, with more than 37,000 recorded on October 1 National Day, indicating the second highest daily visitor arrivals so far this year.
According to the statement, 117,189 visitor arrivals were recorded in the first four days of the Golden Week, with a daily average of 29,297, which increased by 2,172.8 percent compared with the National Day Golden Week last year with a daily average of a mere 1,289 tourists entering Macau. The statement pointed out that the daily average of 29,297 visitor arrivals between October 1- 4 also shows an increase of 49.5 percent compared with the daily average of 19,601 visitor arrivals last month.
The statement noted that the average occupancy rate of Macau’s hotels during the first three days of the National Day Golden Week from October 1-3 rose year-on-year by 32.5 percentage points to 80.6 percent. The statement added that the average hotel room rate was 957.7 patacas, up 23.9 percent from the average room rate of the first three days of the National Day Golden Week last year.
The National Day Golden Week runs through tomorrow.
