Melco Resorts and Entertainment said in a recent statement that City of Dreams (COD) will be unveiling an art space called “Artelli” at The Showroom this month.
The Showroom, the statement noted, will house over 1,580-square-metres of art and retail space on two levels. The exterior design is inspired by the City of Dreams logo, while its circular windows bring in natural lighting and appear to be transparent at night.
According to the statement, the resort is collaborating with Forward Fashion (International) Holdings Company Limited to present the “multi-dimensional” art-space Artelli, the brand name of which is derived from “Art” and “Intelligence”.
The statement said that the 650-square-metre art space fuses digital art and exclusive brand crossovers, among others. The statement added that Artelli will also collaborate with top artists and brand designers to launch Artelli exclusive debut collections. It will feature art exhibits, draft drawing sketches and behind-the-scenes highlights of the art pieces and art events.
Macau Resorts, Melco Resorts and Entertainment Chief Operating Officer David Sisk was quoted by the statement as saying that the company is excited to establish the “Art x Retail” concept experience with The Showroom’s launch. “In collaboration with Artelli, City of Dreams will surprise the city with the new horizon of art space and create exceptional memories for all guests by the debut of the luxurious immersive multi-dimensional art space”, he said.
Forward Fashion (International) Holdings Company Limited Executive Director and Artelli founder Cyrus Fong said: “As technology advances, art spaces and galleries that operate on a single channel are no longer enough to satisfy people’s desire and pursuit in collecting art. To comprehend this, Artelli will be a new global art and culture landmark that narrows the distance between art enthusiasts and artworks delineating immersive art-meets-live experiences”
The grand opening of Artelli will be held on October 28, with internationally renowned artists invited to bring their exclusive original artworks to be showcased. The unique art works are also available for sale, the statement said.
