The Judiciary Police were notified by the Public Security Police (PSP) at 5:45 a.m. yesterday that a 47-year-old mainlander committed suicide by hanging herself from the canopy of a sheltered bench on the Guia Municipal Park’s running track, PJ spokesman Leng Kam Lon said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the victim was certified dead after being rushed to the public Conde de S. Januário Hospital centre for emergency treatment.
The statement noted that the woman had hanged herself with the strap of her handbag. It added that there were obvious marks on her neck, but no suspicious injuries were found on the body.
The statement said that the Judiciary Police have classified the case as dead body found, adding that the exact cause of death still needed to be confirmed by forensic examination.
