Two spotted doves which got tangled in overhead electricity cables in Avenida de Venceslau de Morais in Areia Preta district at around midday yesterday were rescued by firefighters and Municipal Affairs Bureau (IAM) workers, local media reported yesterday.
According to the local media reports, the Municipal Affairs Bureau received reports at around midday yesterday that two birds were tangled in overhead electricity cables in the avenue.
The reports said that with the assistance of fire fighters, IAM workers rescued the two birds from the overhead electricity cables in the afternoon.
The birds were then transferred to IAM veterinarians to be examined who confirmed that they are spotted doves.
According to the reports, the examination concluded that the two birds had not sustained any external injuries, and both appeared to be very lively.
After assessment, the reports said, the veterinarians concluded that both were in good health, because of which they were returned to the wild.
