The Judiciary Police (PJ) yesterday announced the arrest of a 23-year-old local male photographer, surnamed Lam, on suspicion of attempting to burn the padlock on the shutter of a shop that he rented near Fortress Hill.

PJ spokesman Tam Weng Keong said at a special press conference yesterday that Lam and two friends sold cameras from the rented premises.

According to Tam, the landlord of the shop reported to the police on August 12 that the padlock on the shop’s shutter was blackened as if someone had tried to burn it off.
