The 2022 Guangdong & Macau Branded Products Fair (2022GMBPF) is slated to take place from Friday to Sunday at the Venetian’s Cotai Expo Hall D, the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM) said in a statement yesterday.

According to the statement, the fair will integrate trade, fora, culture, shopping, leisure, and entertainment. Over 60 percent of the enterprises are joining for the second consecutive year, the statement said.

Themed “semi-finished food”, which the statement noted is in accordance with current consumer eating habits, the three-day fair is organised by IPIM in conjunction with the Department of Commerce of Guangdong. The event will also debut the “Four Key Industries Area”, which aims to provide a platform for business exchanges and cooperation, as well as product sales for enterprises participating online and offline, the statement underlined.

The event aims to boost various industries’ recovery through the “1+4+N” exhibition mode, with “1” referring to the fair’s main theme “semi-finished food” and “4” referring to the new elements – “four key industries” such as the establishment of relevant exhibition areas and thematic forums. “N”, meanwhile, refers to industries that can benefit from the fair by participating in the exhibition and sales campaign, business matching and networking sessions, as well as several fora.

The so-called “four key industries” comprise sci-tech research and high-end manufacturing; traditional Chinese medicine (TCM); cultural tourism, conventions and exhibitions, and modern finance.

The statement added that the 2022GMBPF has also invited an information technology company to join the exhibition and host thematic talks on the latest industry information. Last year’s fair included a “renowned e-commerce platform” from the mainland, which approached over 70 local enterprises interested in developing cross-border e-commerce. The statement noted that 20 of those enterprises successfully listed their products on the e-commerce platform.

Moreover, last year’s fair enabled 21 projects to be signed, with its “bridging effect” extended beyond the exhibition period by creating cooperation among enterprises, eventually introducing various agricultural by-products from Guangdong to Macau.

Last year’s GMBPF also assisted a local exhibitor to reach an initial agreement on cooperation with the Guangdong Restaurant Association through the fair’s business matching session, while some exhibitors set up long-term supply partnerships, the statement said.
