The Macau government yesterday announced the further relaxation of entry curbs on non-resident foreigners (i.e., foreign nationals without a Macau ID card), which will take effect at 00:00 a.m. on Sunday.
The measure was announced in a Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre statement.
According to the statement, several more groups and categories of non-resident foreigners will be allowed to enter Macau directly from the Chinese regions of Hong Kong and Taiwan as well as from foreign countries and regions without having to apply to the Macau Health Bureau (SSM) for entry in advance.
The nationals that will benefit from the new measure that will take effect on Sunday, according to the statement, will include non-resident workers (NRWs), those holding a temporary residency permit to stay in Macau, students studying in Macau, and professional NRWs’ family members who have obtained a special permit to stay in Macau.
