The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre announced in a statement yesterday that while the Macau Health Code will remove the option of agreeing to authorise the Health Bureau (SSM) to retrieve users’ registered address from the Identification Services Bureau (DSI) from today, the new measure – which was first announced on Tuesday last week – will only be implemented in phases from today according to the last digit of the users’ ID card number.
Before today, Macau Health Code users could choose to fill in their home address themselves on the system or alternatively select an option on the system agreeing to authorise the Health Bureau to obtain their address information from the Identification Services Bureau.
The new measure that was first announced on Tuesday last week and starts today means that Macau Health Code users can only report their home address by filling in the address on the system themselves.
The new measure that removes the DSI option means that from today if a Macau Health Code user does not fill in their home address on the system themselves, they cannot generate a health code on their smartphone.
Yesterday’s statement announced that from today, the new measure will only be implemented first for those whose ID card number ends in number (1) today, while the measure will be extended to those whose ID card number ends in number (2) tomorrow, and the measure will be extended to those whose ID card number ends in number (3) on Friday.
The initial implementation will be concluded next Friday with ID cards ending in number (0), after which all current Macau ID card (BIR) holders will be covered by the new measures.
