Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chong Kam Lon said during a special press conference on Friday that two part-time sex workers and a man from Vietnam were arrested separately on Thursday for drug trafficking.
Chong noted that during Thursday’s operation, a total of 2.81 grammes of ketamine and 10 millilitres of cannabis oil were seized, with a street value of 8,000 patacas.
According to Chong, the two women, who said they worked as masseuses, surnamed Tham and Dao, aged 32 and 30 respectively, had been engaged in prostitution for about one to two months, while the 29-year-old male suspect, surnamed Nguyen, had overstayed in Macau for a year and a half.
After receiving a tip-off about two women selling drugs at night entertainment venues in Zape a week ago, the Judiciary Police soon identified their flat in Zape and put them under surveillance until about 9 p.m. on Thursday when the police saw the duo leaving the home together, ready to get into a taxi en route to a hotel in Nape, Chong said.
Chong noted that PJ officers intercepted Tham and Dao before they got into the taxi. They found a total of five small bags of ketamine weighing a total of 2.81 grammes on both, while an e-cigarette, a laser lamp, a ceramic dish and more than 10 condoms were found in Tham’s handbag. Chong added that the officers then seized 10 millilitres of cannabis oil and a modified water bottle for drug taking at their flat.
Under questioning, according to Chong, the duo admitted that they have a drug habit and worked as “part-time prostitutes” in Macau. They also told the police that they charged their clients 30,000 patacas for their sex services that they always provided together, and that they also pushed their clients to take ketamine with them, charging them an extra 7,000 patacas each time. They also said that they turned on a laser lamp during their sex sessions to make the atmosphere more exciting.
Chong said that Dao also confessed that the ketamine was bought from Nguyen, who was then arrested by PJ officers at his flat in the Areia Preta district on Thursday night.
Chong added that drug-taking paraphernalia was found in Nguyen’s flat, believing that he had been selling drugs for three months as his main source of income.
According to Chong, the trio were transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), where they face charges of drug abuse, drug trafficking and possession of drug-taking paraphernalia.
