The Macau Correctional Services Bureau (DSC) is hosting its annual Christmas Gifts Online Promotion Campaign for Prisoners and Juvenile Detainees, which will last until December 15, during which members of the public can buy the goods, such as cookies, handicrafts and gift bags made by the prisoners and juvenile detainees, through the online platform.
The statement said that the campaign aims to provide a platform for prisoners and juvenile detainees to display their learning achievements, raise public awareness and help them “rebuild their lives,” adding that all proceeds from the activity will be allocated to the Correctional Fund for the rehabilitation of prisoners and juveniles detainees.
According to the statement, in order to create more favourable conditions for prisoners and juvenile detainees to “re-enter the community,” the bureau has set up vocational training courses for them at the prison and juvenile detention centre in Coloane, enabling the prisoners and juvenile detainees to make good use of their time and enhance their competitiveness in the labour market.

The prison comprises convicts and prisoners on remand. Juveniles are held in a detention centre that is separate from the correctional facilities for adults.
