The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement yesterday that the China National Peking Opera Company’s performance in Macau for the programme “Masterpieces by the China National Peking Opera Company” has been cancelled owing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic prevention measures.

The performances were jointly prepared by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism in Beijing and the local Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture, the statement noted.

According to the statement, two performances were slated for December 16-17 at the Macau Cultural Centre (CCM) and were withdrawn due to the current circumstances faced by the company that prevents it from travelling to Macau.

Refunds, the statement said, are available until January 17 at the Macau Cultural Centre’s Box Office and Macao Ticketing Network counters. The organisers are attempting to fix a new date to stage the performances.

More information can be found at www.ccm.gov.mo or calling the ticketing hotline on 2840 0555.

This poster provided by the Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) yesterday announces the cancellation of the two local performances slated for next month.
