The budget for next month’s Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF) is about 45 million patacas, of which about half will be paid by the government, Ip Peng Kin, chief-of-cabinet of the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture, said yesterday.

Ip made the remarks at Macau Tower during a press conference for the 5th GTEF, which will take place on October 15-16 at Studio City in Cotai.

The event, themed “The Growing Consumer Class – Rethinking and Reshaping the Future Tourism Landscape”, is hosted by the Secretariat for Social Affairs and Culture.
