The Judiciary Police (PJ) received two reports separately from the Fire Services Bureau (CB) and the Public Security Police (PSP) on Monday around 7 p.m. that a woman had committed suicide by hanging herself at her home on Rua de Paris in Nape, the Judiciary Police (PJ) said in a statement that night.
The deceased was a 60-year-old local woman surnamed Lam. She lived with her family.
According to the statement, when one of Lam’s family members got home from work that day, he or she found that Lam had hanged herself with a scarf in her room. aramedics arrived at the scene and confirmed that Lam had died.
According to the statement, PJ officers saw marks on Lam’s neck, and confirmed that the marks matched the scarf that she had used to hang herself.
A suicide note was found at the scene, the statement said, adding that Lam had had suicidal thoughts due to an illness.
The statement said that a post-mortem examination will be performed.
