A male civil servant cut in front of another driver and both got into a quarrel, after which police who arrived at the scene found him reeking of alcohol and arrested him on Friday, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Wong Wai Chon said during a regular press conference on Monday.
Wong noted that the 47-year-old suspect surnamed Lok does not work for the Macau Public Security Forces Affairs Bureau (DSFSM).
The incident occurred in Rua de Malaca on Friday morning, Wong said, adding that Lok was found to have an alcohol concentration of 2.48 grammes of alcohol per litre of blood.
Lok claimed that he had drunk alcohol at 11 p.m. the night before and thought that the alcohol in his body had been completely “digested”, so he decided to drive to work as usual.
Wong underlined that Lok, who faces drunk driving charges, has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP).
