The Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) said in a statement that as of 6 p.m. yesterday, the Support Hotline for Infected Persons had received 1,615 calls.

The hotline 2870 0600 has been in operation since 9 a.m. yesterday, according to the statement.

The hotline, which operates 24 hours a day and has 60 lines, is earmarked for people infected with the novel coronavirus and their relatives, the statement said, adding that callers will be required to provide their identification numbers issued on the “Platform for Self-assessment and Community Outpatient Appointment for COVID-19 Patients”.

The statement pointed out that in order to be able to receive as many incoming calls as possible, each call will be limited to five minutes. Therefore, the statement added, infected patients or their relatives should decide on which questions to ask before calling so that they can get answers as soon as possible during the limited call time.

The government urged patients or their relatives to log into its “Home Quarantine Information Network” https://iasapp4.ias.gov.mo/homeQuarantine for common problems before seeking help from the hotline.
