Take action: Save children’s sight with Orbis

Imagine a childhood in total darkness. With World Sight Day approaching, Orbis Macau is dedicating its annual fundraising campaign this year to saving children’s eyesight and future.

The World Health Organisation (WHO) has designated the second Thursday of every October as World Sight Day, which falls on October 13 this year. Every year to mark this day, Orbis Macau hosts a fundraising campaign, “Action for Sight”, with the aim of raising awareness of blindness and visual impairment.

Founded in 1982, Orbis, which is headquartered in New York, is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation that fights blindness around the world. Over the past 34 years, the organisation has provided medical and optical treatment to more than 23.3 million people in 92 countries.
