Doctor calls for awareness of colorectal cancer

Residents should find out more about colorectal cancer as the number of people suffering from the disease is increasing in Macau, Assistant Director and Consultant in Oncology to Kiang Wu Hospital Qiu Xi Bin said yesterday.

Qin made the remarks on the sidelines of a forum on medical developments which was hosted by the Macau Medical and Health Federation at Macau Fisherman’s Wharf Convention & Exhibition Centre.

Qin said that according to the Macau Cancer Registry 2014 Annual Report released by the Health Bureau (SS), 253 new cases of colorectal cancer were diagnosed in that year. Qin pointed out that in 2013, the number of newly diagnosed cases of colorectal cancer was 230.
