The Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre said in a statement on Saturday that after evaluating the needs of people infected with the novel coronavirus to take public transport to the community treatment centre at the Macau East Asian Games Dome in Cotai and the city’s community outpatient clinics, as well as adjustments to the operation of the outpatient clinics, the special bus routes C02-C07 en route to the treatment centre and the outpatient clinics were discontinued yesterday.

The centre urged COVID-19 infectees needing to use public transport to go to the treatment centre and the outpatient clinics to wear their facemasks properly and ensure personal hygiene.

Govt adjusts operating hours of support hotline for COVID-19 sufferers

Meanwhile, a statement by the Novel Coronavirus Response and Coordination Centre said yesterday considering that the number of calls to the government’s Support Hotline 2826 1126 for COVID-19 infectees has dropped “significantly” compared to the initial stage of the launch, especially in the wee hours when there were just a few calls, the operating hours of the hotline will be shortened from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. from today.

The statement underlined that those who have an urgent medical need during the hours when the hotline is unavailable can go to a medical institution directly, while people seeking emotional support services may call the Social Welfare Bureau’s (IAS) 24-hour Counselling Hotline on 2826 1126 for professional support.
