Macau Polytechnic Institute (IPM) Professor Zeng Zhonglu said yesterday it was difficult to implement a ban on gaming workers from entering casinos during their leisure time.

He also said it was important to strengthen newly-hired dealers’ awareness of the possible dangers of gambling.

The Gaming Inspection and Co-ordination Bureau (DICJ) said in July that it was studying the feasibility of a ban on gaming employees from entering local casinos during their free time. The bureau said it was also analysing whether such a ban should only include dealers (croupiers) or all staff employed by gaming operators.
