A local French male was arrested for drunk-driving on Monday, Public Security Police (PSP) spokeswoman Lai In Hong said at a regular press conference yesterday.
Lai said that the suspect is in his thirties. He told the police that he’s an administrator.
The suspect’s surname was not given.
According to Lai, the police received a report on Monday at 3:30 p.m. that a car accident had occurred in Estrada Governador Nobre de Carvalho in Taipa. Police who arrived at the scene saw a car that had crashed into a concrete barrier.
The suspect, reeking of alcohol, was given a breathalyser test which showed that his alcohol concentration was 3.1 grammes per litre of blood. Lai noted that the suspect demanded another test, and so he was taken to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre for a blood test, which showed that his alcohol concentration was 3.97 grammes per litre of blood.
The suspect has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing drunk-driving charges, Lai said.
