The Environmental Protection Bureau (DSPA) said in a statement yesterday that its newly set up “recycle FUN station” in Nova City in Taipa will offer residents additional recycling services, including for small appliances, fluorescent light tubes, batteries and food waste.
According to the statement, the station will have a 24-hour smart recycling machine, in addition to the three coloured bins for paper, metal and plastic as well as and glass recycling bins that are available at recycling stations in different areas of Macau.
According to the statement, in order to facilitate clean recycling, and after analysing the actual operation of other recycling stations, the bureau will provide residents with longer service hours – from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. every day except Tuesday and public holidays – to allow for the fact that other recycling stations are closed on Mondays.
The statement added that residents will be able to redeem environmentally friendly gifts at the station, while residents are reminded that all recycled items must be cleaned when they are taken to the station, if they want to collect the gift.
For more information, residents can visit the DSPA website at www.dspa.gov.mo or call the DSAP hotline on 2876 2626 during office hours.
