The Identification Services Bureau (DSI) said in a statement yesterday that the increase of application appointments available, which sees the offices open from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. every day until March 31, has been “well-received by residents”, with over 80 percent of increased appointments reserved on the first day.

The statement noted that appointments can still be made to file applications at China Plaza yesterday, with the closest available appointment date at the Government Services Centre in Areia Preta and the Government Services Centre in Taipa being on February 14.

The statement said that by 5 p.m. yesterday, 328 residents had made appointments to file applications from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. for the day, accounting for around 80 percent of increased quotas of the day.

Meanwhile, 2,532 residents had made appointments to file applications during the extended hours through Sunday, “accounting for around 80 percent of increased appointments of the whole week”, the statement underlined.

DSI offices at China Plaza in Avenida da Praia Grande, the Government Services Centre in Areia Preta and the Government Services Centre in Taipa will extend service hours to 9 p.m. daily until March 31, as well as being open to accept applications seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The statement added that extended service hours are only open for first-time or renewal applications for IDs, travel documents and visit permits to Hong Kong by appointment.

There will be no on-site ticketing, though documents can be collected without appointment during the period. The statement noted that appointments for services can also be made through one’s Macao One Account or the bureau’s website.

Details and locations of six 24-hour self-service kiosks, where DSI officials will be stationed from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. to assist residents, can be found at www.dsi.gov.mo/kiosk_e.jsp.

The statement urged those eligible to use their “Macao One Account” or self-service kiosks.

Appointments can also be made through the account or at www.dsi.gov.mo. For enquiries, call 2837 0777 or 2837 0888, or email info@dsi.gov.mo.
