Melco Resorts & Entertainment said in a statement earlier this week that it achieved a high standard of Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) culture in 2022.

The statement noted that the gaming resort operator promoted OSH across its properties through 300 internal training sessions and activities for over 12,000 participating colleagues. In conjunction with the Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL), they also carried out a string of OSH activities including health and fitness seminars and an online quiz and related workshops.

Through its efforts, the statement said, Melco achieved a reduction in the rate of employee injury frequency year on year. The company, in line with the Labour Affairs Bureau also achieved a 99.5 percent completion rate in the government’s “Hotel and Catering Safety Card Training Programme”, which aims to enhance employees’ safety awareness across the industry, according to the statement.

Melco’s Chief Operating Officer David Sisk was quoted by the statement as saying: “We are pleased that our targeted implementation of the OSH promotion and awareness activities in alignment with the Labour Affairs Bureau were warmly received and supported by our colleagues”.
