Imports in August rise 1st time in a year

Macau’s merchandise imports in August rose 1.8 percent year-on-year to 6.9 billion patacas, the first increase since the same month of last year, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) has announced. 

Total exports rose 8.4 percent to 973 million patacas. Domestic exports, which accounted for 18.1 percent of all exports, jumped 94.7 percent. 

Exports of tobacco and wine rose 85.8 percent to 559 million patacas, accounting for 8.1 percent of all exports.
