The Chinese Educators’ Association of Macau, Macao New Chinese Youth Association, Academic Association of Morning Sun (AASM – 澳門朝陽學會) and the Chinese-language Macao Daily News’ information platform (澳門起點) jointly launched yesterday a creative short film contest themed “Ideal Life in Macau and the Guangdong-Macau In-depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin”, applications and submissions of which are being accepted until March 30, according to a press conference held at the Bank of China (BOC) Building in Nam Van.

The Macao Daily News is Macau’s top-selling newspaper.

The contest, which consists of two categories – students and general public both individual and group – aims to encourage more local youngsters to “deeply explore the wonderful moments” of Hengqin and Macau, and to write about the “beautiful life” in both places, is sponsored by Bank of China (Macau) and MacauO2O, one of the cross-border e-commerce (business-to-consumer) platforms certified by the Macau Trade and Investment Promotion Institute (IPIM).

The press conference noted that the jury will select the gold, silver, bronze and finalist awards for each category according to the theme, creative concept, visual communication and other aspects of the submissions. The organisers said they hoped that the competition could encourage local youngsters to depict the vision of a better life in the future in Macau and Hengqin through the camera and their creativity, inspiring them to better integrate their own development into the overall development of the country and contribute to the development of Macau and Hengqin.

The winners will be announced in late April, according to the press conference.
