The Macau Customs Service (SA) announced on Wednesday that submissions for sectors such as manufacturers, importers, exporters, freight forwarders, warehouse operators, terminal operators and carriers to apply for Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status, will start from next month.

According to the Macau Customs Service, AEOs authorised by the Macau Customs can enjoy a package of convenient clearance measures when importing goods to the mainland.
The AEO Programme, which aims to support the high-quality development of the Guangdong-Macau In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin, and serves to “implement customs clearance measures for the mainland’s Customs and SA to facilitate the customs clearance of mutually recognised high credit enterprises”, and it will further facilitate the entry and exit of exhibitors and exhibits, as well as support Hengqin in jointly organising cross-border conventions and exhibitions with Macau, according to official information by the central government.
