Macau’s 125 hotels and inns received 819,000 guests last month, a year-on-year growth of 59.6 percent, the Statistics and Census Bureau (DSEC) said yesterday.
The number of guests from the mainland (646,000) and Hong Kong (105,000) rose by 54.9 percent and 484,4 percent respectively. The number of local staycationers fell by 31.0 percent to 47,000. Mainlanders accounted of 78.9 percent of all guests.
Guests’ average length of stay decreased by 0.1 night to 1.7 nights.
The number of available guestrooms dipped 1.8 percent to 38,000. Guestrooms’ average occupancy rate rose by 27.3 percentage points to 71.2 percent.
