The Public Security Police (PSP) announced in a statement yesterday that earlier this week PSP officers intercepted three Filipinos dressed as women in the city centre who were “harassing” passers-by, suspecting that they were working as prostitutes.
The statement did not mention the exact date when the police intercepted the trio.
The case occurred in Avenida de Lisboa, where Hotel Lisboa and Grand Lisboa Hotel are located.
The statement said that PSP officers patrolling Avenida de Lisboa saw that three males dressed as women were “constantly harassing” passers-by.
Suspecting that they were soliciting, the officers intercepted them and took them to a police station for questioning, the statement said.
According to the statement, the three Filipinos, aged between 30 and 40, had entered Macau as visitors. Under questioning, the statement said, they admitted to having offered prospective customers “massage services” in exchange for money.
Visitors are barred from engaging in gainful activities during their stay in Macau. Yesterday’s statement said that the three Filipinos will be deported as they had breached their condition of stay.
This handout photo released by the Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday shows the three Filipinos being escorted to a PSP van in Avenida de Lisboa earlier this week.
