Artist and photographer Lúcia Lemos is showcasing photographs in an exhibition titled “20 Women Artists of Macao” at the H2H Gallery on Estrada de Nossa Senhora de Ka Ho for International Women’s Day.
International Women’s Day is celebrated tomorrow, according to the UN Women website.
Lemos is also the founder and coordinator of the Creative Macau-Centre for Creative Industries and the festival director of the Macau International Short Film Festival.
According to a statement from the gallery, Lemos is exhibiting the same project that she did 22 years ago, with the exhibits comprising black and white portraits of 20 female artists that either lived in or were born in Macau, as well as linked to the art world, the statement noted.
The statement said that art “had and still has” a great importance in their lives, with all of who have “freed themselves” through artistic creation.
The photos are on display until March 26. The gallery is open on Monday, Tuesday and Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. During the weekends, it is open from 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. It is closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. Admission is free.
