Man dies in car accident: police

A man was found without a pulse and not breathing in the driver’s seat of his car that had crashed in Nape, and was pronounced dead after being taken to hospital for emergency treatment, the Public Security Police (PSP) said in a statement yesterday.

The 64-year-old victim worked as a driver. There were no passengers in the car.

According to the statement, firefighters arrived at the scene at 9 a.m. yesterday where his car was found at the entry of the carpark of Artyzen Grand Lapa Hotel. The victim had no pulse and was not breathing but showed no obvious signs of injury. He was rushed to the public Conde de São Januário Hospital Centre where he was pronounced dead at 10:30 a.m.

The Public Security Police are investigating the cause of the incident, the statement said.
