Social Welfare Bureau (IAS) President Celeste Vong Yim Mui yesterday urged domestic violence victims and other people who may know about such incidents to report them to the authorities and to seek help.

Vong made the comments while speaking to reporters yesterday at the Macau Science Centre in Nape where she attended a ceremony to mark the launch of a co-operation mechanism across several government entities for the handling of domestic violence cases.

Led by the Social Welfare Bureau, the co-operation mechanism is being jointly run by the Legal Affairs Bureau (DSAJ), Public Security Police (PSP), Judiciary Police (PJ), Health Bureau (SSM), Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ), Labour Affairs Bureau (DSAL) and Housing Bureau (IH).
