Pui Ching Middle School will run an international school in a new building in Coloane, according to an executive order published in the Official Gazette (BO) yesterday and recent government announcements.
According to yesterday’s executive order, which was signed by Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture Elsie Ao Ieong U last week, Education and Youth Development Bureau (DSEDJ) Director Kong Chi Meng will sign an agreement with Macau Pui Ching Middle School Education Promotion Association – which runs the school, according to which the association will lease Section Two of the new building, which is located on Plot 12a, from the Macau Special Administrative Region (MSAR) government, to run a school there.
Plot 12a is located between the private residential estate One Oasis and the Concórdia Industrial Park.
Pui Ching Middle School currently runs kindergarten, primary and secondary classes on a campus located in Avenida de Horta e Costa in the peninsula.
Kong told reporters last week that Pui Ching Middle School will run an international school in the new building on Plot 12a in Coloane, adding that it will start classes in the school year of 2024/25.
Sino-Luso international school
The local government first announced last year that the newly completed building on Plot 12a in Coloane will be earmarked for the operation of two international schools.
Pui Ching Middle School’s lease of Section Two of the new building on Plot 12a came after Kong signed an agreement in December last year with Macau Sino-Luso International School Association (ACSLIM) on a lease for Section One of the new building on Plot 12a.
According to a DSEDJ statement in December last year, the international school to be run by Macau Sino-Luso International School Association in the new building’s Section One on Plot 12a will start classes in the upcoming school year of 2023/24.
This photo taken in January this year shows one side of the new building on Plot 12a, located between the private residential estate One Oasis and the Concórdia Industrial Park in Coloane, where two international schools will be housed.
