The statement noted that the concert will be held as a part of the Happy Chinese New Year – National Art Troupes Performance Season in Macau and will commence at 8 p.m. on the day. It is jointly produced by the CNTO and the Palace Museum.
The statement added that the upcoming concert, which premiered in Beijing in late 2020, has been planned by CNTO president and renowned pipa player Zhao Cong and commissioned by Wang Danhong and Ma Jiuyue.
The concert will be conducted by Tsung Yeh, principal guest conductor of, and artistic advisor to, the OCHM, as well as honorary conductor of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra. It will also feature solo performances by zhongruan player Zhu Chengzi and dizi player Ding Xiaokui, among others.
