Woman found floating near Patane market: police

The Judiciary Police (PJ) were notified by the Fire Services Bureau (CB) at 9:56 a.m. yesterday that a woman, who had been found floating in the coastal waters off the Patane Municipal Market, was confirmed dead by its paramedics, according to a PJ statement.

The statement said that Macau Customs Service officers, who were patrolling in a speedboat, spotted a woman in her forties floating in the coastal waters opposite the Patane Municipal Market at about 9:13 a.m. yesterday, and took her to Macau Customs Service facilities on Rua do Conselheiro Borja.

The statement noted that the victim was about 1.57 metres in height.

No other information was available, the statement said.

No superficial injuries or fractures were found on the corpse, according to the statement, which noted that the exact cause of death had yet to be confirmed by forensic examination.

No identification documents and valuables were found on the deceased, the statement said, adding that the case has been classified as dead body found.
