The Public Security Police (PSP) announced in a statement last night that earlier this week PSP officers intercepted four Thai men dressed as women in the Inner Harbour district who were “harassing” passers-by, as they suspected that they were working as prostitutes.
The statement did not mention the exact date when the police intercepted the quartet.
The statement said that PSP officers patrolling in Rua das Lorchas saw that four males dressed as women were “constantly harassing” passers-by.
Suspecting that they were soliciting, the officers intercepted them and took them to a police station for questioning, the statement said.
According to the statement, the four Thai men, aged between 20 and 30, had entered Macau as visitors. Under questioning, the statement said, they admitted to having solicited customers for sex.
Visitors are barred from engaging in gainful activities during their stay in Macau. Yesterday’s statement said that the four Thai men will be deported as they had breached the conditions of their stay.
The case announced last night came after PSP officers intercepted three Filipinos aged between 30 and 40 dressed as women in the city centre at the end of last moth who were soliciting customers for “massage services”.
This handout photo released by the Public Security Police (PSP) yesterday shows the four Thai men being escorted to a police station earlier this week.
