The University of Macau (UM) is slated to launch six new master’s degree programmes in the 2023/2024 academic year, the public tertiary education institution said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the university aims to nurture more “high-quality professionals” for Macau to support the development of emerging industries and assist the city in its “economic transformation”.
The degrees to be launched are in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI), robotics and autonomous systems, coastal environment and safety, innovative materials, medicinal administration, and philosophy.
There are three programmes to be offered by the UM’s Faculty of Science and Technology (FST), which are the Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence, Master of Science in Robotics and Autonomous Systems, and Master of Science in Coastal Environment and Safety.
The statement added that the Institute of Applied Physics and Materials Engineering (IAPME) at UM will offer the degree of Master of Science in Innovative Materials. Meanwhile, UM’s Institute of Chinese Medical Sciences will offer the Master of Science in Medicinal Administration degree, while the Master of Arts in Philosophy is to be offered by the Faculty of Arts and Humanities (FAH), the statement said.
