A local woman was defrauded out of 3,300 patacas a concert ticket selling scam, Judiciary Police (PJ) spokesman Chong Kam Leong said in a regular press conference on Monday.
According to Chong, the 24-year-old victim told the police that she found someone selling tickets for a K-pop girl group concert for 12,900 patacas on the mainland Chinese social media platform Xiaohongshu.
Chong noted that the gig was scheduled to be held in Macau next month.
The victim then transferred a deposit of 3,300 patacas according to the instructions of the seller, but the seller “blacklisted” the victim on the social media platform immediately after receiving the payment. The victim suspected that she had been deceived and reported the case to the police.
