The Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) is slated to host an “Information Day” on Saturday, which will be held both online and offline, the public university said in a statement yesterday.
According to the statement, the event will feature booths for study and programme consultations, sharing sessions, exhibitions and performances, among others, to enable high-school students to experience university life and campus culture.
The statement noted that the event will also showcase MPU’s special features, teaching and research development and achievements. Its Scholarship Awards Ceremony will also be held on the same day.
Currently open for applications for the degree programmes of the Academic Year 2023/2024, the statement noted that the enrolment period for bachelor’s degree programmes through “Direct Admission” runs until June 15, while enrolment for postgraduate programmes runs until May 15, according to the statement.
Specialised admission areas include information technology (IT), health sciences and sports, languages and translation, among others. Moreover, the statement said, the university’s programme curriculum is in line with Macau’s “1+4” appropriate economic diversified development strategy.
The “1+4” model refers to the ongoing development of Macau’s tourism and leisure industries plus four new industries – big health, hi-tech, modern finance, and conventions and exhibitions including culture and sports
For the 2023/2024 Academic Year, the statement said that the university will launch new bachelor’s degree programmes such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), and Media Arts (Media Arts is art that is created through use of new media and technology); master’s degree programmes in Finance with Data Analytics, Business Administration, Public Administration, Education (Cultural Communication and Education); and doctorate degree programmes in AI-Driven Drug Discovery, and in Educational Technology and Innovation.
