The Cultural Affairs Bureau (IC) said in a statement yesterday that it has set up a “Macao Creative Pavilion” and arranged the participation of local cultural and creative entities for the first time at one of Asia’s licensing-focused exhibitions, the Hong Kong International Licensing Show 2023.

The statement noted that the licensing show, which is held in Hong Kong and organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council, runs until tomorrow, adding that the pavilion aims to promote various Macau IP brands and facilitate the “exchange and development of cultural and creative industries”.

The three-day event, which began yesterday, provides a “one-stop platform for global licensors, brands, licensees, licensing agents and traders” from around the world to explore cross-disciplinary business collaboration, the statement added.

The bureau has gathered 10 cultural and creative brands from Macau in the “Macao Creative Pavilion” to showcase Macau’s cultural image through the city’s “IP characters”, the statement said. The event will have a promotion session to increase the popularity of local IP brands, explore opportunities for cross-disciplinary collaboration and help locals to develop their business in the global market.

The participating local exhibitors comprise Mung Animation Co. Ltd., Case Station Advertising & Planning Co. Ltd., Nam Kwong Culture and Creativity Industry Co. Ltd., Fortes Solo Workshop Ltd., Synccess Culture Creative Co. Ltd., Soda Panda Product Design, 50 Percent Toy Co., Ltd., I.N.K Fashion Co. Ltd., TICK.DESIGN Ltd., and Solomon Cultural and Creative, Ltd.
