The British Consul for Hong Kong and Macau Patrick Turner was in town on Friday night to meet British expatriates living and working in the city – including British Honorary Consul Glenn McCartney – at the Scout Association headquarters in Taipa.

Those gathered were told that McCartney had been awarded the MBE (Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire) for services to the British community and British business in Macau, in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List.

The aim of the evening was to answer any questions that the expats had on various consular services, such as the services that the consular team is able to provide to British nationals in Macau and to access other UK government services not provided by the British consulate-general (including an update on the delivery time of British passports to those living overseas), as well as frequently asked questions about what Brexit means for Brits living abroad.
