The Macau Government Tourism Office (MGTO) said in a statement yesterday that it is making preparations to welcome visitors on the mainland’s Labour Day “Golden Week” holiday from this Saturday through next Wednesday.

According to the statement, visitors to Macau can tailor their itineraries through MGTO’s website or the “Experience Macao” app. These platforms allow visitors to view the latest information on attractions, events and festivals and hotels, among others. One can also follow MGTO’s various official social media accounts.

The statement noted that local hotels’ room rates for different room categories are also regularly published on the Macao Tourism Industry Net. Meanwhile, visitors can also utilise the “smart application for visitor flows” to check the forecast of visitor flows at over 117 tourist attractions by going to https://poimonitor.macaotourism.gov.mo.

Visitors can also check “real-time border-crossing images” at different ports [checkpoints] of entry, the statement said, through the Public Security Police Force’s (PSP) “Real-Time Information Platform of Border Ports” at http://www.fsm.gov.mo/psp/pspmonitor.

The statement added that MGTO will continue its “Experience Macao, Unlimited” promotional campaign to showcase the city’s highlights under a special theme each month, with the theme for May being “May there be FUN”.

MGTO has also sponsored several community activities set to launch around the holiday such as “MAK MAK’s great adventure in Macao – Novel under Guia Lighthouse” at the Guia Lighthouse and “Pátio do Espinho·Historic Footprint Guided Tour” at Pátio do Espinho, both at the weekend, and Praia do Manduco Carnival in Rua da Praia do Manduco from May 1 – 31.

Meanwhile, the Macau Grand Prix Museum and Macau Artist Society will jointly host the art exhibition “Speed”, where around 30 artworks will be displayed at the museum until August 31, the statement said. The museum is normally closed on Tuesdays, but will be open on May 2 as a special arrangement for the holiday.

The statement noted that MGTO is also launching a range of different online and offline marketing initiatives and special offers.

MGTO added that it will adjust the manpower at its Tourist Information counters, while its Tourism Hotline on 2833 3000 will operate 24/7 as usual.
