The Macau Productivity and Technology Transfer Centre (CPTTM) has been authorised by Shenzhen-based tech company Huawei to be its first training centre in Macau, according to CPTTM Director General Victória Alexa Kuan Chan (關治平), who said yesterday that the centre will continue to offer more courses covering the fields of network security and artificial intelligence (AI), so as to promote the integration of the information technology (IT) industry in Macau with the rest of world.
Kuan made the remarks in a speech during a plaque-unveiling ceremony for the centre’s opening, at the BEYOND Expo 2023 at The Venetian Convention and Exhibition Centre in Cotai.
According to Kuan, the centre inked its cooperation framework agreement with the company in December last year.
Huawei Macau General Manager Jackie Li Yingjie said during the ceremony he believed that the training centre could promote the training and employment of talents in Macau, while also facilitating the upgrading of the IT industry.
According to Li, the company has been cooperating with CPTTM since 2021 in co-organising a number of Huawei Certified ICT Associate (HCTA) diversity training courses, as well as the annual Huawei ICT Competition.
ICT stands for information and communication technologies.
