The Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) recently awarded scholarships to 600 of its outstanding students to “recognise their excellent achievements in different academic and professional fields, and encourage students to continue to strive for academic excellence and motivation”, the public tertiary education institution said in a statement yesterday.
The on-campus award ceremony was held on April 22, the statement noted, where students received scholarship certificates from guests. According to the statement, the awards received affirm students’ past efforts and “represents the expectation and stimulation for the future”.
The statement said that MPU Rector Im Sio Kei thanked the community and scholarship donors for their support, as well as congratulated the scholarship recipients.
The statement added that according to Im, MPU, in line with its motto of “knowledge, expertise, global vision”, strives to cultivate application-orientated talents who love the nation and Macau, have an international vision and global competitiveness, and are committed to contributing to Macau, the nation and the world.
Moreover, the statement noted that the university “aims to cultivate young leaders who are creative and competitive with an international perspective to contribute to the country”.
