A male hairstylist from the mainland was arrested last Wednesday for sexually harassing a teenage girl while he was washing the victim’s hair and massaging her shoulders and neck, Public Security Police (PSP) spokesman Lam Keong said during a regular press conference yesterday.
Lam said that the non-resident worker (NRW), aged 42, is surnamed Zhong.
According to Lam, at about 1 p.m. last Wednesday, the victim, who went to a hair salon on Rua Direita do Hipódromo alone to get a haircut, called the police and her mother saying that the hairstylist had touched her breasts while he was washing her hair.
Under questioning by the PSP officers who arrived at the scene, Zhong, who initially denied committing the offence, admitted to sexually harassing the girl because, he said, she dressed “very sexily”, Lam added.
The exact age of the victim was not released.
Zhong has been transferred to the Public Prosecutions Office (MP), facing a sexual harassment charge, Lam said.
